Beyond the Bookend Series - Documenting love, grief and end of life  

 Art is my coping mechanism. Some may find it weird or morbid, but documenting mom's last year gave me a strange calm, an acceptance of what was. This series was taken during the 6 weeks before my mother transitioned. The way the light hit her face, the shapes and forms, gave me a distraction from the grief.
